Fall is here!

I'm so embarrassed that it's been since the early summer from when I posted last. I know you're supposed to keep up on these things, but I guess having a baby does take up a lot of your time! :) Better late than never! Happy Fall everybody! The leaves are slowly changing their color, and there is a crispness in the air. Even though this part of CA usually stays in the 70's year round, we do get a cooler day or two which does remind me that it's fall. We turned our clocks back this weekend, so it gets darker sooner, but we are looking forward to the holidays, where the lights twinkle in the midnight sky (how do you like that for blogging vernacular? :)

If you know our family, you know that we are always traveling. It doesn't seem like that has stopped since having Lily! Drew has been a mountaineering machine the past few months - climbing Mount Olympus in Washington, the Grand Tetons in Wyoming, and most recently, a 10 day trip to summit Pico De Orazaba in Mexico. All of these mountains are thousands of feet above sea level and he has guided them all with several of his close guy friends. Way to go Drew! We are so proud of him and look forward to him climbing Mt. McKinley in the summer of 2014.

I have acquired 7 piano students over the past few months, and have been teaching out of our condo on our baby grand piano. I absolutely love my students ( 3 adults, 4 kids!) and enjoy seeing them progress in their music. I'm currently assigning Christmas music, which I cannot wait to pull out my own stash of tunes and play/sing! This weekend, I'm traveling to the Bay Area to play piano for a friend's church. I'm glad I get to still play piano while staying at home with the baby.

Lily is growing like crazy and is getting cuter by the day! Her most recent accomplishment is learning to pull herself up and stand...only to fall on her bottom and then crawl over to the next thing that interests her:) She'll be 8 months old this week. It blows my mind that she'll be 1 in just a few short months. We are so blessed to have her in our lives. She makes us laugh every day! Her favorite word is "da-da" although we're not sure if she's associated Drew yet with this word. She just likes saying it over and over! Hudson is so good with her, and I think they are becoming friends. Every morning, Lily will crawl toward the dog, who sleeps on our bed, and tries to grab his tail. It used to bother him, but now he just licks her face! How cute:)

Below are a bunch of pictures! Most recently, we celebrated fall by carving pumpkins and going out trick or treating on Halloween night. Lily was a lady bug! It was so much fun. This will be a big couple of months for us - celebrating Lily's 1st Thanksgiving (we'll be in Senora with Drew's dad) and then her 1st Christmas where my parents will be visiting here from Arizona!

I promise to not wait as long to post more entries. Be looking for another entry as we are going to Hawaii for our 1st big family vacation December 2-12th...Aloha!

Summer is here!

June is well under way and we have been enjoying the lovely weather here in San Luis Obispo. It's usually in the 70's, which makes it perfect for taking walks with Lily in the stroller! I haven't mastered walking Hudson and the stroller at the same time, but hopefully that will come with practice:) Lily is 3 and half months old and is getting so big! I can't believe how fast she is growing out of her clothes. I am getting a few professional pictures taken of her this week, so hopefully I can post those soon. I don't want to miss any moments with her changing so much. She's is such a sweetie pie and so stinkin' cute!! I just love seeing her little personality develop. Drew and I have been enjoying our bedtime rituals with Lily... giving her a bath, bedtime story, and family prayer.

Drew celebrated his 1st Father's Day this past weekend and we had his Dad, Trey and wife, Monika over for lunch. It was a great time of hanging out! I bought Drew a gift certificate for the shooting range up the street so he can go have some fun shooting his gun that he bought last year in Arizona with my Dad.

I have my first piano student coming to the house this week to teach a 30 minute lesson. I'm very excited to "get back on the horse" with teaching and playing piano. Lily seems to enjoy me playing as well as listening Drew play his guitar. I can't wait until she's old enough to learn her first little song on the piano. That will be a proud day for Momma! :) I haven't volunteered to play piano or sing yet a church, but I'm hoping to join choir for the upcoming holidays!

We are looking forward to celebrating 4th of July here in the area and then visiting some friends and family in Vegas later on in the month. We are excited to get Lily in the pool (yay for a new cute yellow bathing suite that I just bought her!) and hopefully get to the beach! Summer is here!! We hope you enjoy yours, making many wonderful memories...

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Happy Memorial Day weekend everybody! The Littlejohns have been getting settled into their new home here in San Luis Obispo. Our two bedroom condo is perfect for our little family. Drew was able to get an office downtown, so we set up the nursery a few weekends ago. Lots of pink in there! May has been wonderful month, including my first Mother's Day! We spent the morning at church and then had lunch at Splash Cafe in Pismo Beach which is where Drew and I had our first date. My present was my very own lemon tree for the back patio. I can't wait to pick the fruit off and make fresh lemonade for the upcoming warmer months! (I'm looking for a good lemon pie recipe, so if you have one - send it my way:)

Lily is 11 weeks old today! She's developing her own little personality as each day goes by - smiling and cooing all the time now too. We have bets on who's going to make her laugh first! She went to the dr. the other day and she weighs 12 lbs. Getting so big and strong. We've decided that we love having a girl...all the hugs and kissies make us so thankful God has given her to us! We know that the summer will be filled with lots of fun adventures including trips to the beach and farmer's market down town. Drew wants to go camping, so we will be planning that trip too. (Hudson is dying to get out a sniff away...) We have started attending our old church here, Oak Park Christian. Looking forward to renewing friendships there as well as making new friends...

As we remember all those who have lost their lives in serving our great country, lets draw close to the ones we love and appreciate. Life is short and we never know how much time we have left. Love & miss you all:)

Home Sweet Home!

Well, we have arrived in San Luis Obispo, CA! Home sweet home! Drew is so happy to be back to his stomping grounds and  I'm glad to be back near the beach. Lily is 8 weeks old today and is becoming quite a little coo-er! She loves to smile and  "talk" to us, especially in the morning (after she's fed and changed, of course! :) Hudson is enjoying the new smells and loves being able to run around on grass (we didn't have a whole lot of that in Arizona!) We are looking forward to a summer full of new adventures. Please keep in touch with us! Our new address is: 1182 Oceanaire Dr. San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
Visitors welcome anytime:)

On the road again...

Well it seems like each year brings something new and exciting for the Littlejohns family. We are on the road again...with another move! We will be heading back to California by the end of May. We are setting up shop in San Luis Obispo (Drew's home town) to live, work, and play! Drew's internet job is mostly based out of L.A., so we will be only a 3 hour drive away which makes traveling much easier for him. We are glad that we are moving back so we can be together more as a family, but are sad as well to leave my parents and our church.
We will keep everyone up to date as the time gets closer. Please be in prayer for us as we find a place to live and re-establish ourselves into another community.

Lily is doing well. She will be 6 weeks old on Friday! She's growing and changing so much. She's starting to smile and get her own little personality. We love her so much and are excited to take her to the beach once we get to San Luis. Below are a few recent pictures. Enjoy!

She's here!

Lily Joyann Littlejohns was born at home on March 9th, 2012 at 7:06am, weighing 7 lbs 5 oz and 21 3/4 inches long! She is just perfect and we are enjoying every minute with her.
