Counting down the weeks...

We are counting down the weeks now...Our estimated due date is February 27th (my Dad's birthday!) Drew is really pulling for a February 29th delivery- which would make our little girl a Leap Year baby! Yes... 2012 is indeed a Leap Year so we shall see what our odds are!

Despite the first few months of morning sickness, I have been fairing quite well in this pregnancy! Weight gain has been spot on and my body has been reacting normally to the growing baby. We decided to do our care through a wonderful midwifery clinic here in Queen Creek. Alison Haash is our midwife and she is wonderful. She's a Christian and very knowledgeable about pregnancy and birth. She has delivered dozens and dozens of babies over the past 10 years. She just had her 7th baby at home! We, too, are going to have a home birth and look forward to a very relaxed and private birthing setting. Luckily, we have a hospital just 5 minutes down the street from us so we have all our basis covered! Please continue to pray for us that we have a wonderful birthing experience and that our baby girl is healthy and strong.

First post for Littlejohns Blog!

Hi Everybody! This is my first attempt at a family blog so bear with me as I learn how to write updates and post pictures! Drew and I moved to Queen Creek, Arizona this past May to be near my parents in Chandler (about 30 minutes drive from us!) We are both working (Kasey - music director at a church and Drew - entrepreneur/internet marketing) and enjoy being closer to family!

This past summer, we found out that we were expecting! What an exciting time it has been for us. In October, we did a harvest themed gender revealing party. This consisted of us going to the ultrasound appt., having the technician write on a piece of paper what the sex/gender of the baby was and sealing it in an envelope...all without us peeking! This envelope was then taken to a bakery to have a special cake made for us with pink or blue frosting inside. We didn't know if we were having a boy or girl until we cut until the cake at our party...which revealed PINK frosting:) We had about 40 guests who celebrated with us. It was such a memorable time!

Drew and I explaining that the ultrasound tech had given us a "confirmation" envelope
with a paper saying BOY or GIRL...just in case the bakery wanted to play a trick on us
and put different colored frosting!
